In 2005, more than 650,000 geothermal systems were installed in the US eliminating more than 4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions .

There are more than 36,000 geothermal systems installed in buildings in Canada today and that number is growing everyday because according to Natural Resources Canada, no existing space conditioning technology offers greater comfort, economy or environmental benefits than the geothermal systems currently available. Those Canadian installations are equivalent to:

• Taking 55,000 cars off the road permanently
• Planting 23 million trees
• Reducing our fossil fuel consumption by 1.2 million barrels of oil per year
• Eliminating one 150MW power plant

Environmental awareness is fast becoming the trend in corporate responsibility. Clients are requiring it, and the public is expecting it. A geothermal system can supply 100% of the heating, cooling and domestic hot water the building requires and when coupled with PV solar energy to provide electricity for circulation, it eliminates 100% of the GHG emissions. In addition to customized design and integration, Ameresco Geothermal offers 100% financing for our geothermal and renewable energy systems. We will design and build the system at no capital cost to the customer, in exchange for a 30 year, fixed price Energy Supply Agreement that guarantees the operating costs are less than occupants would pay to operate a conventional HVAC system. This includes repairs, maintenance and replacement of equipment (even at life). So no more unpredictable energy price increases and no unexpected charges for repairs
