Design Build

Whether a standing structure or one still on the architectural drawing board, Ameresco's professional engineers work with property developers to assess their project by comparing the design, operations and economic characteristics of a traditional HVAC system with those of a Renewable Energy System, while pre-qualifying LEED® points.

Ameresco Geothermal systems reduce operating costs 40% to 75% and reduce green house gas and CO2 emissions up to 100% for both new construction projects and retrofits. We optimize the building’s overall energy performance and costs by analyzing the energy needs of the building and professionally engineering a geothermal or hybrid renewable energy system to provide 100% of the heating, cooling and domestic hot water.

Geological Testing and Site Assessment

Before beginning any project, Ameresco Geothermal drills test bore holes on every site and tests the thermal properties of the geological formations beneath the ground.

Every variable is accounted for to ensure the capacity of the energy field is matched exactly to the seasonal heating and cooling loads of the building. We use prefabricated and factory pressure tested, CSA approved geothermal loops which carry a 55 year manufacturer warranty and we design our energy fields to last for the life of the building, maintaining their heating and cooling balance year after year.

Building Integration

Ameresco works with your architectural and consulting design team to identify structural and space savings inside the building by eliminating equipment usually required by traditional HVAC systems. Often unsightly ceiling bulkheads and external building wall penetrations can be avoided, creating valuable space and a clean, low maintenance, exterior. Noisy and heavy roof top chillers are gone and bulky boilers are eliminated. Ameresco provides sophisticated building automation controls while each suite maintains maximum control of their personal comfort levels.

Ameresco will consult with your Mechanical Electrical engineers to fully integrate the geothermal system into the mechanical design for the building and will provide building automation controls.

Construction Scheduling

Construction schedules are critical to large commercial project success. Ameresco has developed installation methods that reduce time on site and allow us to work in ways that are the most cost effective for clients. Our staff and trades are trained to work on large scale construction projects ensuring maximum safety practices and compliance and easy integration into complex work schedules.

High Density Buildings

Ameresco specializes in large commercial projects, and has developed sophisticated geothermal design and installation techniques that allow systems to be installed on very tight sites where real estate is at a premium. This means that high density buildings can now be constructed with the most sustainable green building technologies previously only available to low rise structures.
